In a savy move, self-styled minstrel metaller's Jaldaboath have renegotiated their abandoned deal with Austria's Napalm Records for a world-wide release of the stunning debut album 'The Rise of the Heraldic Beasts' !
Below is atranscript recieved on parchment from the Grand Master himself, explaing everything. Be sure to snap up one of the remaining copies of the album (now strictly limited to only 500 copies) which will hopefully soon become a collectors item ! ;
Mighty brethren hordes, I scribe to you on the business and strategies of our war ;
As we all know, the field of battle is in constant flux with the ebb & tide of fortune, and further-more is not a cost-free venture. Even the mighty Knights of Jaldaboath are susceptible to the whims of the crown and the usurer in these times of high austerity!
Thus, in planning campaigns of war and victory, truces must be made and the rivalries and mistrust of the past must be set aside for the greater good of Hammering Heraldic Metal ®, enabling us to mount sieges and battles and progress towards total victory over the Wyvern’s minions ;
From behind the walls of Rhydian, we received a message by carrier pigeon from our distant Teutonic cousins Napalm records ;
“all misunderstandings to end. Stop. We admire the length of your swords. Stop. The jingle-jangle of Jaldaboath must never stop. Stop. Join us for greater victory. Stop. (message ends)”
Ponder did we this proposal, for many unexpected things do come to pass in these strange and poverty-stricken times. For instance, just look at the marrying of the Meek and the Mightily Cruel in our very own houses of parliament, or the grabbing of groats of the Witch of Moulsecoomb, or even the hastily fashioned pig-iron candelabra of the mongers of Oxfordshire. For sure, these are strange days indeed !
Thus it was, a secret meeting was held by our sect in the crypts of our unimposing yet mighty castle, and we decided that in order to pursue the path of the armed troubadour, we must now submit all our powers beyond this isle to the will of the mighty army of the Teutonic Knights of Napalm Records - who will embark on a global campaign of releasing our debut album 'The Rise of the Heraldic Beasts' to the unsuspecting masses in both Europe (27th of September) and the new world (date to be confirmed) ! 'Tis sure that this will greatly contribute to raising a far larger army of Bishop Bashing warriors to fight for our just cause !
As a result, all our own stock of “The Rise of the Heraldic Beasts” CD (pressed early this year as a limited edition run of 500 copies and released exclusively through www.deathtomusic.com) - will only be available until our remaining munitions run out (to become collectable heirlooms to be passed down the generations!). And soon the smoke will rise as the smithies of Eisenerz fire up the furnaces to manufacture this metal missal of hymns in greater number and the colours of Jaldaboath shall rise up the pole of Leopoldstein !
So let it be trumpeted that a small victory has been claimed on all sides ;
1) Napalm Records benefit from adding our highly-skilled masters of the minstrel metal craft to their mighty Ostrich legions (Alestorm, Falkenbach, Kampfar, Summoning etc…)
2) The knights of Jaldaboath exchange their hay-cart for a siege engine with which to launch larger campaigns further afield and consolidate our forces to defeat the foes of Hammering Heraldic Metal.
3) The hard-core followers and pilgrims of Jaldaboath whom have supported us thus far, now have a limited edition and soon-to-be collectable item to be treasured for eternity !

shape of Iceland's volcano Eyjafjallajokull !
All UK pre-orders have already been dispatched today

Quite a departure from the relatively amicable self-titled 2007 debut
CD which took a snap-shot of the modern world in the age of terror, 2008’s
Kalashnikovs & Car Bombs was written
at the height of the Iraqi insurgency. Originally released
as a 6 track mini CD, the themes explored are the destruction of Baghdad,
mass religious indoctrination, improvised explosive devices, nuclear proliferation,
and the overall collapse of the post Cold-War global status quo.
The music is a joining of death metal riffs and deconstructed
drum’n’bass drums all packaged into the catastrophic
sound-scape of the world at war with itself. Accompanied by witty and
thought-provoking vocal and music sampling, the music of Kalashnikovs
& Car Bombs is unparalleled in either the Extreme Metal scene
or the extreme end of D’n’B.

NUTRITION - Hyperdimensional Awakening

Nutrition is a trans-continental Blackened Metal duo
who, instead of obsessing over the horrors of medieval ideas of satanism,
are inspired by the theoretical demons from another dimension.
Yes - the reptilians.
This is sci-fi extreme metal with very original
touches and instead of "satan", the bad guys are the
4th dimensional reptoids as written of by David Icke.
Cross that with the reptilians from "V" (which
has been re-made and is currently airing on US TV - lucky bastards !)
and you will be able to start to get the picture. Recomended reading is

STRIPEBOUND - Mental Chains

Stripebound are a 5 piece from Sweden, and yet another
example of how they seem to be able to do heavy music better than the
brits (and pretty much everyone else). It must be something in the water.
The music is a mix of classic hardcore and 90s
metal with a strong Death Metal influence. This
should not be confused with Deathcore - this has more of a classic
edge to it.
With band members being veterans of various bands, this is the first release
of Stripebound, who are a hard-working live
band - playing regularly in and around their native Sweden.

OLD FOREST - The Kingdom Of Darkness
(unreleased demo 1999)

After initially releasing their demo 'Of Mists And Graves'
(also available to download at Death To Music),
they signed to Mordgrimm Records and released their debut album 'Into
The Old Forest'. The remaining demo recordings of the aborted demo 'The
Kingdom Of Darkness' have never before been available to
hear. Until Now.
Unless you are a seasoned connoisseur of truly grim Black Metal,
this demo recording is likely to cause offence due to it's blizzard
guitars, clunky bass, cardboard-box drum sound and overall total disregard
for audio aesthetics and comerciality.
This is K V L T.
A stop-gap release inbetween parts 2 & 3 of their Sussex Weald
trilogy, this demo shows Old Forest in their most Darkthrone-esque
moments. The band are also said to be working on further material beyond
their trilogy - and one day will finish the video to accompany Part 2.
VANHELGA - Enslaved by God (demo 2009)

VANHELGA is a fairly new Black Metal
solo project from Sweden, writing and recording melancholic
and raw black metal more in keeping with the early
90's scene with the occasional Dissection-ism
here and there, rather than the current day pop-star satanists of the
genre.
The solo project of the musician who goes by the numerological number
of '218' decided to throw his
weight behind the most anti-commercial metal label in existence
- Death To Music - with Vanhelga's debut
release 'Enslaved by God'.
IMPORTANT UPDATES ;
There have been some changes at www.DeathToMusic.com ;
Firstly, we have taken the decision to make all
downloads open to anyone and everyonewithout
the need for membership or passwords, but continue to encourage more people
to join the growing mailing list. No passwords are neccesary from
this point on. You can now also access all interviews from the
releases page.
Secondly, we have added a chat-room facility
to the website (see the CHAT page). This does not require any
registering and anyone can jump in, unless you
want to add an avatar / profile of some kind (which in itself is incredibly
straight forward). We will be encouraging all artists released to
check in to the chat room and take abuse from people listening to their
music directly, rather than sending abuse to us. Weekend (Saturday) days
spent nursing hangovers are probably best, but for the growing numbers
of unemployed, you can stake out the place if you like (rent is free
– adverse possession not frowned upon)
Thirdly, we cant stress enough how important
it is for you to pass the message on about Death
To Music to people you know and people you dont. With a
lot of our releases (though admittedly not all), we have adequately
proven that free music can often be as good as - if not better
- than music being peddled by the metal "industry".
Now that all our releases are open to everyone / anyone, start
getting the word out in any way you can (flyers and banners
available on the "take action" page). If you have downloaded
and enjoyed any of our releases, but not told someone else about it, that
is a real dis-service to the artists !
If you know any bands that are doing heavy and cool stuff who
are hanging around waiting to be discovered by Roadrunner or Century Media,
then put them in touch with Death To Music where they can get heard in
the meantime ;
The internet is playing a massive part in the destruction
of the established and corrupt music "industry", so if you want
to lay the boot in along with all the artists and netlabels
that are turning their backs on capitalist greed and corruption, then
spread the word. Music magazines will never report on
the activities of labels such as Death To Music
because they have nothing to gain, but the times they are a'changin -
there is a growing 'evil' tide of fans and musicians opting for the
legal and "free" route to the kind
of music they like without the trappings of a money-driven environment.
Net-Labels (of which D.T.M is one of the very few credible ones releasing
"metal") are THE most important development in
DIY grass-roots music culture since Punk tore up the rule book
in the 70s. This is THE new underground scene - whether
or not the media reports it as such.

As if to prove that THE BOMBS OF ENDURING FREEDOM are
not all about paranoia, doom, gloom and the stark realities of living
in the modern age, James Fogarty has put together this bizarre and intruiging
'art' project centering around a 'found' piece of work by a former collaborator
James Cauty ;
WHAT TIME IS ART ?

Once upon a time, James Fogarty started 'The
Blacksmoke Organisation' (a.k.a 'Blacksmoke')
with notorious art prankster and musical visionary James Cauty
(formerly of The KLF, The Orb,
The K Foundation, Space
and The CNPD)
One day in April 2009, James F. decided to visit James C. at his workshop
to ask for some informal legal advice relating to copyright. When he arrived,
it was deserted - save for a "calling card" in the form of a
totally trashed photostat from the music video 'America -
What Time Is Love' (measuring 4ft x 5.8ft).
This object was previously a constant companion to James C., and James
F. was dismayed to see it in such a poor state. It had always had a huge
scratch over it, but now it had been covered in chinese take-away food
and beer by some of the local Portslade Massive crew who had seemingly
broken in and trashed the place.
This situation just would not do, so James F. took it home to The
Council Flat of Mass Destruction (HQ of The Bombs Of Enduring
Freedom, www.DeathToMusic.com and infrequently doubling as the 'Blacksmoke
Workshop'). Sadly, the walls of such a proletariat dwelling do not cater
for the size of art as produced by James C. Something had to be done ;
.
The picture (already a piece of artwork on multiple levels) would
now be cut into 140 12cm squares (a completely unoriginal yet inspired
idea copied from Bill Drummond), and would be commemorated by the
accompanying download single 'What Time Is Art ?' by
James F's new music project The Bombs Of Enduring Freedom.
As well as various music projects, James F. is usually a full-time
'Not Artist'. The success of such a passtime involves thinking and doing
as little about art as humanly possible. In this, he is a great practicioner.
In fact, sometimes he can go for as long as up to 4 months without contemplating
'Art' (save for the frequent forrays into the world of 'audio terrorism').

(14/04/09) Highly individual Cult Black Metal band OLD
FOREST have yet again provided us with another release that proves
they do things a little differently from most other bands of
their ilk.
When we released the limited edition part 1 of their 'Tales
Of The Sussex Weald' trilogy (The Legend of the Devil's
Dyke), the first 100 lucky orders came with a small booklet detailing
the local legend. As far as we know, they are the only Black Metal band
ever to have undertaken such an extravagant item.
So here we are, nearly a year later, and the long-out of print booklet
has been recreated (with it's original KVLT unreadable font)
as an unlimited digital edition (view now on the 'releases' page). When
loaded you turn through the pages just like a real book by clicking /
dragging.
There is an extremely limited amount of Part 1 CDs left, and a depleted
amount of Part 2. Old Forest will soon be bringing us another music video

A MASSIVE DOSE OF MASS IN COMATOSE
(30/01/09) Today sees the release for the download EP
'Sempiternal Nightmare Industry', from Estonia's
Mass In Comatose. Let us guess - you have never heard
of them ? That is because they are new. But It doesnt stop there ;
We seriously reckon that this is genuinely some of the best death metal
to be recorded since the mighty Carcass recorded
the classic 'Necrotism' album. Mass
In Comatose isnt a homage to Carcass at all, but just check out
the lead guitar at the 2 minute mark on the track 'Control The Masses',
and we think you'll agree that it is of equal standard to anything Amott
or Steer put down onto tape.
So combine the awesome technicality of the band members, with a healthy
respect for Carcass, Entombed, Morbid Angel
and At The Gates and add a topping of socially
critical themes to get your mind working - and you pretty much are starting
to have a good idea of what Mass In Comatose are about.

track entitled 'The Black Priory' at their myspace
page HERE.
The track is taken from their new EP 'Tales of the Sussex Weald
; Part 2 (Domain of the Long Man)', which is again strictly limited
to 222 copies (with free limited edition pin badge).
Part 2 delves into the myths and legends surrounding Europe’s largest
representation of the human form, The Long Man of Wilmington
(a 227 foot high figure carved into the chalk at Windover Hill, midway
between Lewes and Eastbourne).

(16/10/08) In a surprise move, only 12 months since it's
release, THE BOMBS OF ENDURING FREEDOM are to give away
their debut album (limited to 665 slightly less evil CD copies)
as a free-high quality unlimited download edition. This will include new
artwork, and a remix of "The Rapture"
by Zardonic as a bonus track. The release will be available on Friday
17/10/08. For those interested in supporting Death To Music,
there are a limited amount of limited edition CDs still available (soon
to become collector's items only !).

Do you remember the days of opening envelopes filled with flyers of totally
underground stuff ?
Do you rememeber the days of fans promoting music and labels that they
think are great ?
Well - if the answer to both them questions is yes then please read on...
As you know, Death To Music is more-or-less confined
to the virtual woirld of the internet - no bad thing in 2008, but - in
an age where skin-tight jeans, Kajagoogoo hair cuts and ultra cheesy thrash
metal is back in a big way, it's time to hit the streets.
To start the ball rolling, we have uploaded a PDF file HERE
of 16 small credit-card sized flyers laid out onto an A4
page. You can download this and (for the price of a half a pint of
beer) you can get 300 black & white flyers printed / photocopied,
which you can then pass onto your fellow man at relevant gigs, clubs,
bars etc etc to let them know about the wonderfull delights of audio antagonism
that they are missing out on here at www.DeathToMusic.com

Also, you will find PDF's for the more street-credible
'stencil graffiti' on the "take action" page. These
come in 2 sizes ; "my bag's not big enough" A4
(click) and "i've got balls" A3
(click) . This involves printing, cutting out, spray-painting
and possiblly facing a fine for defacing of public / private property.
With these you can decorate the bland walls and bus-stops around the local
university, rock venue and trendy music stores - suck it to 'em and be
better than Banksy ! - and dont forget to send any photos of your lovely

Today is the 11th of September, and sees the release of KUNSTTERRORIST's
first album 'The Next War' - which is totally
free to all DTM subscribers, and is described as a mash-up of
electronica / alternative / punk.
K.T.O was founded by multimedia art terrorist Filip
Filkovic in Zagreb, Croatia, and is a loose collective
of zenarchist musicians and artists who have been spreading graffiti all
over the suburbs and basically making the place look a bit untidy since
2005. Also, Fil went on to design stampage for the now defunct C.N.P.D
(Cautese National Postage Disservice) which was founded by J.
Cauty after he ceased activity for The Blacksmoke
Organisation whic he co-founded with J.
Fogarty(also of The Bombs Of Enduring Freedom)

Noisy bastards THE BOMBS OF
ENDURING FREEDOM have uplaoded another track (Free
? For How Long ?) from their upcoming as-yet-untitled EP
- which is due for completion and release sometime in the next few months
- exclusively through DEATH TO MUSIC Productions.
Displaying another track fusing ambient industrial metal to the rhythms
of the urban sprawl themed on the predicament of the international proletariat,
the bombing campaign is due to re-start in earnest in the second half
of 2008 - perhaps even taking in some limited live terror campaigns..

remixed the legendary Black Metal anthemn "I Am The Black
Wizards" by the legendary EMPEROR.
Important corrections ; J. Fogarty is not 24 (though he would like
to be). Since 2005, J. Cauty has not been a part of Black Smoke -
he has most recently been spotted abusing advertising boards in the London
area.
This was done a few months ago (during those cheezy cold winter months
when the urge to listen to black metal arises), but those Norwegians
are slow to move - due to the ice in their underpants.
The version that Emperor have uploaded sounds to us like an early version,

of the 'Portals' album by Blackholepit,
which is an ambient industrial metal side-project of underground DnB producer
Federico Agreda (a.k.a Zardonic,
Gorepriest etc etc..).
The album's 9 tracks are totally depressing,
and have a very strange and original sound that will have you reaching
for the valium. Imagine, if you will, the lost album of the project by
Varg Vikernes and Trent Reznor
from 1992 that (for many obvious reasons) would never have been
recorded...

Sunday) marks the first release of reformed Cult Black Metallers
OLD FOREST in over 7 years ; Tales of the Sussex
Weald ; Part 1 (The Legend of the Devil's Dyke)

As previously reported, the release is the first part of a trilogy
dedicated to the pre-christian myths from the Sussex Weald (a.k.a
Andredsweald OR The Forest of Anderida) which in ancient times was
a vast impenetrable forest running along the Sussex Downs.
To mark the release (and as a continuing theme from burying the master-tapes
to their ill-fated and unreleased second album in 2000) OLD
FOREST have buried a signed and sealed copy of this release somewhere
in the vicinity of the Devil's Dyke (just north of
Brighton). Those wishing to seek out this hidden treasure, may apply
to DEATH TO MUSIC at the usual address for a map...

we keep going forwards and being creative with new and interesting projects
/ prospects, rather than dwelling in the past (a major mistake of

THE REFORMATION
(08/03/08)
OLD FOREST (a
virtually unknown cult black metal band from the UK), reformed mid
2007 to once again create some anti-commercial Cult Black Metal, inspired
by the early 90's scene as portrayed in the press at the time (church
burnings and all that stuff). The band has retained it's original line-up
of Kobold (vox & synths), Beleth
(4 & 6 strings) and Grond (drums).
They previously released their debut album "Into the Old Forest"
in 2000, which was universally ignored - recieving the much-coveted 1/10
from Terrorizer magazine. It has become a cult classic.
March the 23rd sees the release of the first of an EP trilogy, inspired
by the myths and legends of the Sussex Weald. The first installment is
titled "Tales of the Sussex Weald ; Part 1 (The Legend
of the Devil's Dyke)" and will come in the form of
a 5 track Mini CD limited to 222 copies only. The first
100 copies will come with a 22 page booklet detaling the Legend of the
Devil's Dyke.
By request of the band, "...Part 1" will be made available exclusively
from DTM Productions.
The band celebrated the completion of "Part 1", by attending
the 'Sussex Beer and Cider festival' at Hove Town Hall, along with the
DTM Forward Attack Squadron.
It has been decided that the release will receive no promotion at all.
A cult classic, not a best seller.

Preperations are in full swing for
the emergence of the world's premiere album of "Tumultuous Teutonic
Templar Thrash" album - penned in the crypts of the Castle of Rhydian
by the order of theknights of Jaldaboath.
The second official demo track by these medieval metal minstrels, title
"Seek The Grail" has been posted on their myspace
page here.
Grand Master Jaldaboath entrusted this communication via scroll ;
"Our quest is at hand - we shall ride forth and scribe the hymns
foretold in my previous parchment.
To our brothers in arms, we salute your bravery and chivalry on the field
of battle ! Thine enemis shall drown in their own piss and the grail shall
be ours !

A "Battle Metal" album with
songs about blood-slaked pagan battle-fields, the destruction of christianity
and even some Tolkien inspired moments may bring to mind bands such as
Ensiferum or Turisas - but No !
Ewigkeit's debut album 'Battle Furies' (originally released
in 1997) explored these paths before Battle Metal became a sub-genre bastard-child
of Black Metal and Manowar.
A year later, Ewigkeit recorded what can be described as the first "Black
Space Metal" album, or perhaps "symphonic ambient avant guarde

After 5 years of inactivity, Jaldaboath
(former founding member of UK black metal band 'The Meads Of Asphodel')
returns from excommunication and, indeed, death to bring you his new project
titled simply "Jaldaboath".
Along with collaborators "The Mad Mullah" (drums)
and "Sir Bodrick" (bass guitar), a new dark
order has been founded somewhere in the crypts below The Castle
of Rhydian - somewhere in the mists of East Sussex, England.
The first outing of their newly scribed hymns (titled Bring
me the head of Metatron) can be found at the myspace page
- which had a healthy 400 plays within 48 hours of being uploaded - some
may describe it as Medieval Masonic Metal, some
as Crusader Core - but we prefer Tumultuous
Tuetonic Templar Thrash !
